    Pegasus PIV is a compact, high speed, dual laser-head system designed to provide a highly stable green light source for Particle Image Velocimetry (PIV) applications.

    It is ideally suited for most high speed, time resolved PIV experiments, and its small size provides excellent flexibility in setting-up such experiments.
    Small laser head requires minimum space.
    Single power supply simplifies setup and enhances mobility.
    High output energy: the system produces 10 mJ at 527 nm operating at 2000 Hz.
    Highly flexible design: each head operates from 1 to 10,000 Hz; 2 to 20,000 Hz with both heads operating.
    Operating convenience provided through multiple triggering capabilities: continuous internal trigger, external TTL trigger and RS232 control.
    Easy set up: single power supply operates on 100-240 VAC single phase source and chiller requires 115 VAC 60Hz, 230VAC 50Hz or 200VAC 50/60 Hz.
    Convenient operation made possible with: remote positioning of a single power supply and chiller saves valuable lab space.
    Local control panel on power supply with all system controls: Hi/Lo power switch permits energy reduction during optics alignment


    PIV-Head Optical Description
    Two laser heads with 1053 nm output wavelength are mounted on a single baseplate. The beams generated by these laser heads are combined and then enter an intra-cavity, second harmonic generator to produce green (527 nm) laser pulses. The output of the second harmonic generator exits the laser output coupler.

    Control Options
    The front panel "Trigger Selection" switch permits continuous firing one or both at a front-panel potentiometer-controlled variable rate, up to the maximum possible 10,000 Hz per head or 20 KHz with both heads operating.

    The laser also can be fired from an external trigger source through rear panel BNC connectors. Each externally supplied pulse fires the laser once at a repetition rate up to the maximum for the model. The intra-cavity shutter may also be opened by an external signal. Computer control of the laser is also available through the RS232 port.
