Produces distinct red/pink color contrast with blue colorimetric substrates
Orcein Stain is prepared from BSC-certified orcein and acetic acid in a proprietary diluent. Orcein produces a deep red to pink color, and is ideal for use as a counterstain with KPLs TrueBlue Peroxidase Substrate (Cat. No. 71-00-64). Orcein can be used following in situ hybridization or immunohistochemical staining of tissues or cells. Acetic orcein is also used to stain mast cells, basophilic cytoplasm, and cartilage.
